Josh shows us his doodles
It’s Phil here with another update for you.
It has been a busy time for the team working Deno Deploy. Not only are new features rolling out for you to try as part of our Early Access program, but we’ve also launched an updated page on our website which show lots of the things you can do with the new Deploy, and some hints about what else is coming very soon
It’s well worth exploring! We’re curious to know what questions you’ll have after taking a look.
Make it pop!
Along with designing and building that new page, Josh was also kind enough to give us a glimpse behind the scenes of creating the new Deno Deploy logo. I always love seeing all the scribbling and ideas in a work-in-progress Figma or Photoshop file, so thanks Josh!
A promising start for Playgrounds
The Deno Discord has been full of requests for Playgrounds to come to the new Deploy platform, and now they’re here.
We think you’ll love them. They now have support for multiple files and come with a few basic starter templates. And yes, you can write code there in dark mode.
We have much more planned for Playgrounds. Try them out by joining the early access program:

Try debugging in Deno Deploy with Igor and Andy
For a better look at some of the observability features available in Deno Deploy EA, Igor from our site reliability engineering team gave Andy a bit of tour, showing how you can get immediate logs, traces, and metrics by simply deploying an app.
You can watch the entire half-hour video here, or jump right in at the timecodes for some of the specific nitty gritty, including:
- Build a simple server in playground
- View traces immediately after deploying
- Add console.logs and filter logs by HTTP request
- Add a fetch API and view traces and spans
… and more.
Keep your eyes open
We’ll be shipping the next release of the Deno runtime, v2.4, very soon, and there is much more to come for Deno Deploy including (I think I can say this without getting into trouble) an answer to the question, “what about databases?”.
Watch for announcements on BlueSky, X, and YouTube if you don’t want to wait until the next edition of this newsletter.
Thanks for reading!
